Domaine Trapet Pére et Fils

The Domaine Trapet represents a winemaking reality that can boast a great oenological tradition behind it, founded by a family of Alsatian winemakers who had success in the “Route de Grand Crus,” or in a territory full of history, but above all of Grandissimi Cru.

Although born in 1919, the Domaine Trapet Père et Fils saw its modern history begin in 1990, when, following a family division, two hectares were merged in Marsannay with another 13 hectares of vineyards located in the territory of Gevrey-Chambertin, where they produce excellent Grand Crus such as “Le Chambertin,” “Les Latricières” and “La Chapelle,” and excellent Premier Crus such as “Clos Prieur” and “Petite Chapelle.”

A further Domaine was then purchased in Alsace to return to its homeland, where highly prestigious Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Auxerrois are produced.
The company owner, Jean Louis Trapet, has always followed the biodynamic practice, carrying it forward with constancy and dedication, enjoying numerous successes such as the three stars in the French wine guide and many positive feedback from international critics.

Jean Louis Trapet argues that wine is one of the most civilized things. In his capacity as a grower, the combination of sensitivity and respect allow him to reach the maximum expression of the terroir. This sensitivity, always chosen with due consideration, often follows the paths of tradition. His quality travels through the vineyard, so from the first sprouts to the harvest, the grapes are always accompanied but never forced.

The words of this winemaker poet are simple but very profound, according to which the perspectives that sweetness offers to the winegrower who knows how to follow it are rich, like the same perspectives we will have for the lover who knows how to appreciate a wine made with love.
